Not one that's needed but the characters are great! I'd pick this one up later on once you've bought a good collection of characters. Much like 6 we have 3 gimmick characters and a basic one. It also has a good mix of 2 basic and 2 gimmick characters. This also has updated player boards that don't exist in RDI 1-4 as the first 4+allies used generic boards. If you're serious about getting a lot of characters then pick this up. A decent one to pick up if you're looking for an Event deck.ĥ is the big box and where you'll be collecting all things RDI and putting them into this box. It has 3 basic characters and the gimmick characters marks people and does extra things to players if they are marked.
During turns, there's a Sea Event deck that affects everyone playing after a certain amount of turns. Get 3 if you'd like to spice up some gameplay with some of the more "gimmick" characters.Ĥ brings in a pirate theme and allows you to play on a boat. One has a deck that can buff or nerf her cards, One has a rotating shop of potions that he can use or sell, One has a pet that changes the effects on things through her turn, and one uses a resource that you have to manage by playing certain cards that make it go up and down. These characters have a special zing to them that adds in some mild new gameplay components. But they are the most basic characters to learn.ģ introduces more of the "gimmick" characters. There's nothing special about these 8 characters as they all excel and are weak in their own things.
